Rising Star Season 2 Winner- Hemant Brijwasi
The second season of Rising Star came to an end last night (April 15) with Hemant Brijwasi bagging the title of the winner. The talented singer walked away with the prize money of Rs. 20 lakh. Rohanpreet Singh of Punjab and Vishnumaya of Kerala stood at the second and third position respectively. a resident of the small city of Mathura bagged the first position by garnering 83% votes. He had won another reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs in 2009 earlier and was also, seen as a contestant in and Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar 2.
He also got a chance to sing in Vishal Shekhar’s music direction in Arjun The Warrior Prince. Later, he also sang a song in the movie “Singh Sahab and MS Dhoni Scratch part. Apart from this, he also did pedilite ad music album with T series cassettes.
A tough three-month battle saw Hemant, Rohanpreet, Vishnumaya and Zaid Ali match their talent in a show that was judged by composer Shankar Mahadevan, singer-actor Monali Thakur and Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh.
While Rohanpreet impressed all with his rendition of Khuda Jaane from Bachna Ae Haseeno, Vishnumaya sang Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka from Devdas. Finally, it was left to Hemant to mesmerise his audience with Alvida from Life in a Metro and win the title.
The grand finale saw the friends and families of the finalists coming out in full support. A few of the past contestants like Sindhu Tai and Harmony Choir cheered excitedly for their friends on stage.
Hosted by Ravi Dubey, Rising Star launched its second season in January this year, with the theme ‘Uthao Soch Ki Deewar’, showcasing the struggles faced by the courageous and talented contestants who fight stereotypes and shatter prejudices to get on stage. Each contestant came across as a fighter, who proved that dreams and aspirations have no barriers. It was the first show on Indian television that got the audience to vote live for their favourites, and this season, the show managed to get more than 130 million people to vote on the show.
coming back to Hemant Brijwasi, he was born on 5 June 1998 in Mathura, India. He is 20 years old. He did his schooling from Ramanlal Shorawala Public School.
