The Royal Swedish Academy of Science has today decided to honor the 2018 Nobel prize in physics. The on goes to Arthur Askin, for the optical tweezers and their applications, to biological systems.
The other one goes to Gerard Morou and Donna Strickland form France and Canada, respectively. They have got awarded for their method of generating high-intensity, ultrashort optical pulses.

While presenting the Laureates of the year 2018, Olga Botner, the Chair of Nobel Committee for physics.
She chaired with the General Secretary, Goran K Hansson and Mats Larsson, the member at the academy.

Sharing the reaction at the names being honored, Academy has tweeted Donna Strickland’s reaction. According to it, when Strickland gets to know about the Nobel Prize-winning, she thought, ‘it’s crazy’. But at the same time, she said that ‘we need to celebrate women physicist’. Further, she added her glad to be one of those women.
